The year is 1915. The senseless war is raging. Anthroposophists come from all different nations to work on the Goetheanum in neutral Switzerland before returning home and going to war to kill their fellow anthroposophists doing the same thing. Rudolf Steiner, who never served in the military, spoke of the war as madness and the forces behind it as evil, but never about resistance to war (conscientious objection). That would have made him a political activist like the anarchist friend of his youth, John Henry Mackay. But who knows what he may have been thinking?
